Un riconoscimento al lavoro di tutta la comunità (Kenyota e Italiana) del Progetto-Sololo

Per questo siamo particolarmente felici di condividere una notizia importante:
CIPAD (Culture Information and Pastoralist Development) è stato ufficialmente ammesso al County Steering Group (CSG) della Contea di Marsabit, il principale organismo di pianificazione e coordinamento che riunisce istituzioni pubbliche, organizzazioni della società civile e attori dello sviluppo del territorio. Il gruppo è coordinato dalla National Drought Management Authority (NDMA), l’ente governativo kenyano responsabile della gestione del rischio siccità e del coordinamento degli interventi nelle aree più vulnerabili del Paese.
L’ammissione è stata comunicata ufficialmente con una lettera firmata dal Coordinatore della Siccità della Contea di Marsabit, Guyo Golicha Iyya, in data 4 giugno 2026.
Nel documento si riconosce il ruolo svolto da CIPAD attraverso l’ufficio di Sololo nel miglioramento delle condizioni di vita delle comunità locali, con interventi nei settori della salute, dell’istruzione, dell’abitazione, del sostegno alle famiglie più fragili, del miglioramento dei mezzi di sussistenza e della tutela degli anziani.
Ma questo riconoscimento va oltre gli aspetti formali.
Entrare a far parte del County Steering Group significa poter partecipare ai tavoli in cui vengono analizzati i bisogni del territorio, coordinate le risposte alle emergenze, condivise le informazioni tra istituzioni e organizzazioni e pianificate le azioni per uno sviluppo più sostenibile e resiliente. In Kenya, i County Steering Group rappresentano infatti uno degli strumenti principali di coordinamento tra enti pubblici e organizzazioni impegnate nello sviluppo delle comunità locali.
Per noi del Progetto Sololo questo riconoscimento ha un valore speciale.
È il risultato di anni di lavoro condiviso con le comunità locali, di relazioni costruite con pazienza, di fiducia reciproca, di presenza costante accanto alle famiglie più vulnerabili. È anche un riconoscimento indiretto a tutte le persone che, in Italia, hanno creduto nel progetto e lo hanno sostenuto con amicizia, tempo, competenze, donazioni e vicinanza umana.
Ogni pozzo, ogni banco di scuola, ogni visita medica, ogni intervento a favore di un anziano, ogni famiglia accompagnata in un momento difficile ha contribuito a costruire questa credibilità.
Desideriamo quindi condividere questa soddisfazione con tutti voi.
Il cammino è ancora lungo e le sfide rimangono grandi, ma sapere che il lavoro svolto insieme viene riconosciuto anche dalle istituzioni locali ci incoraggia a proseguire con ancora maggiore responsabilità e determinazione.

CIPAD Joins the Marsabit County Steering Group: Recognition of the Work of the Entire Sololo Project Community (Kenyan and Italian)

Some achievements cannot be measured only by numbers, but by the trust earned over time.
For this reason, we are especially pleased to share important news: CIPAD (Culture Information and Pastoralist Development) has been officially admitted to the Marsabit County Steering Group (CSG), the main planning and coordination body that brings together public institutions, civil society organizations, and development actors working throughout the county.
The group is coordinated by the National Drought Management Authority (NDMA), the Kenyan government agency responsible for drought risk management and for coordinating interventions in the country’s most vulnerable areas.
The admission was formally communicated through a letter signed by Guyo Golicha Iyya, County Drought Coordinator for Marsabit County, on 4 June 2026. (county steering group admission letter )
The document recognizes the role played by CIPAD through its Sololo office in improving the living conditions of local communities through interventions in the fields of health care, education, housing, support for vulnerable families, livelihood improvement, and care for the elderly.
However, this recognition goes beyond formal acknowledgment.
Becoming a member of the County Steering Group means participating in the forums where local needs are assessed, emergency responses are coordinated, information is shared among institutions and organizations, and strategies for sustainable and resilient development are planned.
In Kenya, County Steering Groups represent one of the most important coordination mechanisms between public institutions and organizations committed to community development.
For all of us involved in the Sololo Project, this recognition has a special meaning.
It is the result of years of shared work with local communities, relationships built patiently over time, mutual trust, and a constant presence alongside the most vulnerable families. It is also an indirect recognition of all those people in Italy who have believed in the project and supported it with friendship, time, professional skills, donations, and human solidarity.
Every well, every school desk, every medical visit, every initiative supporting an elderly person, and every family accompanied through difficult times has helped build this credibility.
We therefore wish to share this satisfaction with all of you.
The journey is still long and the challenges remain significant, but knowing that the work carried out together is also being recognized by local institutions encourages us to continue with even greater responsibility and determination.
The project’s “Final Turn Around the Buoy” phase, launched in January 2026, is off to a very promising start, with the best prospects for success.
